Job – Assistant Professor, electronics packaging, Sweden

A research position of Assistant Professor is available in the area of electronics packaging. The position is in the Electronics Materials and Packaging group of the BioNano Systems Laboratory, which belongs to the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience at Chalmers University of Technology. The research within the group focuses on the development of materials and processes for electronics, MEMS and biomedical applications. The major focus of the research is towards development of nano-materials based technology including nano-interconnect using carbon nanotubes and graphene, nano-thermal interface materials based on metal-polymer composites, nanotechnology based conductive adhesives, heat spreading material based on 2D materials, microchannel coolers and 3D packaging using carbon nanotubes. The final goal is to develop platforms for 3D heterogeneous integration in future nano-electronics system. The group is expanding its research activity and within the ongoing frame project funded by Swedish Board for Strategic Research (SSF) “Carbon based 3D GaN high speed electronics system”, we open the position as assistant professor in electronics packaging.

More information about the department can be found on the webpage: http://www.chalmers.se/mc2/SV/

Major responsibilities
The Assistant Professor is expected to formulate and conduct research, including the synthesis, development and testing of state of the art materials and processes for electronics applications and to participate in educational activities at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience. Research experience from industry is highly valued. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Position summary
