A. Announcing “Letters” in IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology (TNANO)
The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is excited to announce the launch of the category “Letters” in IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology (TNANO) by merging IEEE Nanotechnology Express(ENANO) with TNANO. The “Letters” in TNANO publishes a collection of peer-reviewed short reports of original research and perspectives and mini-reviewson emerging topics. Papers submitted to the “Letters” are limited to a maximum of 4 journal pages in the two-column IEEE format, which includes figures, tables, and references. The “Letters” in TNANO maintains the same competitive and constructive peer-review criteria of TNANO with no article publishing charges.
See https://ieeenano.org/announcing-letters-ieee-transactions-nanotechnology-tnano/ for details on submitting your work to TNANO Letters.
B. REMINDER Call for Abstracts 12th IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (NMDC 2017)
IEEE NMDC 2017
12th IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference
Singapore, 2nd – 4th October, 2017
http://ieeenmdc.org/nmdc-2017/
The organizers for IEEE NMDC 2017, have extended the deadline for 2-page abstracts to 15 June. We warmly welcome you to join us in Oct in Singapore. See http://ieeenmdc.org/nmdc-2017/abstract-submission
Full paper submission is optional, not compulsory for all accepted abstracts.
Upon acceptance of abstracts, the authors may consider to submit full papers of 4 pages with significantly more contents to IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology (TNANO) as a special issue.
The full paper manuscripts are subjected to a peer -review process. When submitting, please select the special issue IEEE NMDC 2017. (Note that full paper submission will not affect the 2-page abstract publication in the Proceedings (in Xplore)).
C. REMINDER: Call for Papers NANOfIM 2017 (3rd Nanotechnology for Instrumentation and Measurement Workshop)
November 16-17, 2017 (Gautam Buddha University, INDIA)
Website: http://nanofim.gbu.co.in/organization/
This conference offers a forum for discussions and exchange in the fields of Nanotechnology, Instrumentation, Environment, Optimization, Power, Energy and Control. The scope is not limited but expandable to applied interdisciplinary fields also. The institutional organizers are the Gautam Buddha University Greater Noida Uttar Pradesh India. We welcome you to witness this technology centenary.
All presented papers will be eligible for post publication in IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience and Measurement Science Technology (IOP). All contributions will be peer reviewed on the basis of a full length manuscript and acceptance will be based on quality, originality and relevance. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings and a post workshop publication, on international reputed journals, is foreseen.
Topics, dealing with measurements and instrumentation, and correlated themes.
Full paper Submission Deadline: June 30, 2017
D. NSF Student Travel Grants for IEEE NANO 2017
We are pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation has awarded a grant to the conference to support US domestic students for attending IEEE NANO 2017. The organizing committee has decided to provide a student travel fellowship for accommodating about 30 students up to five room nights (shared with another student). If you are a student studying in the United States or if you are a US citizen studying abroad, you might be qualified for this fellowship.
If you have interest in applying for this travel fellowship, please complete the application form (download it here: www.pitt.edu/~gul6/Fellowship_Application_3.docx) and return it along with your resume to the address specified in the form by June 15. Please be reminded that only US domestic students registered to attend the main conference are eligible for the fellowship and the fellowship is purely merit based NOT need based.
E. REMINDER: 2nd IEEE International Conference on Rebooting Computing
Members are encouraged to consider submitting their work to the 2nd IEEE International Conference on Rebooting Computing (Nov. 8-9), which is part of the 2017 Rebooting Computing Week. The (extended) submission deadlines are
• June 2 (250 word abstract)
• June 16 (short/full paper manuscript)
See https://ieeenano.org/call-abstracts-ieee-conference-rebooting-computing/ for details.
F. Call for Proposals for Future IEEE NTC Sponsored Conference Sites
The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is calling for proposals for future sites for IEEE NANO 2020 and for IEEE NMDC 2019.
Early indication of an intention to submit a proposal is strongly recommended. Candidates for hosting will be expected to present an informal 5-10 minute “Proposal in preparation” at the NTC Excom and Adcom meetings at NANO 2017 in Pittsburgh, USA. (The presentation can be done remotely, on-line.)
Proposals may be submitted in PowerPoint, Word, or PDF formats, but PowerPoint files are required for the presentation. A Conference Proposal Reference guide and a PPT template is available on request.
Formal proposals must be e-mailed prior to the appropriate deadline of 15-Oct-2017.
See https://ieeenano.org/call-proposals-future-ieee-ntc-sponsored-conference-sites/ for details on making a submission.
