🏆 IEEE NANO 2025 – Student Design Competition Awardees Announced!

We are pleased to announce the winners of the Second Edition of the IEEE NANO Student Design Competition (SDC), held during the 25th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE NANO 2025) on July 16, 2025.

This year’s competition highlighted outstanding student contributions across three cutting-edge design challenges, focused on nanomaterials, nanoscale modeling, and computational innovation. After a rigorous review process by an international expert panel, the following projects were selected and awarded:

🔬 SDC 1: Nanomaterials for Innovative Sensors
Winner: Kavish Saini
Project: “Probing the interplay of doping mechanisms, confinement, and edge states in single graphene nanoribbon molecular sensors”

💻 SDC 2 – Computational Tools & Apps for the Modeling and Design of Nanodevices

Winner: Jan Drewniok
Project: “NanoLogic: An Educational App for Atomic-Scale Computing”

🧠 SDC 3 – Computational Tools & Apps for the Modeling and Design of Nanodevices

Winner: Pantazis Anagnostou and Arne Van Zegbroeck
Project: “Switching Algebra Noninterference Based Spin Wave Computing”

🔍 Honorable Mention
Kimberly Intonti, Loredana Viscardi, and Adolfo Mazzotti
Project: “2D/Si Cryogenic Light Sensor”

Congratulations to all participants for their creativity, technical excellence, and contributions to advancing nanotechnology!

Stay tuned for updates on next year’s competition!
