Matteo B. Lodi received the bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Cagliari, Cagliari, in 2016, and the master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2018. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering and computer science at the University of Cagliari. His research activity deals with the modeling of bioelectromagnetic phenomena, especially hyperthermia treatment; the study, manufacturing, and synthesis of magnetic biomaterials for tissue engineering applications; and the use of microwaves for biotechnology and environmental applications. He was awarded as Young Scientists at General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of URSI 2020 and 2021. He has been appointed as Representative for the Young Professionals of IEEE Region 8 Nanotechnology Council. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the IEEE Future Directions Technology Policy and Ethics newsletter.

Huamin Li received his BS degree from the College of Physics and Electronics, Shandong Normal University, Jinan, China, in 2007, his MS degree from the College of Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Suwon, Korea, in 2010, and his PhD degree in the Department of Nano Science and Technology, SKKU, Suwon, Korea, in 2013. His PhD research focused on 2D electronics and optoelectronics. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Notre Dame. His postdoctoral work included the development of low-voltage and steep subthreshold swing (SS) components for beyond-CMOS electronic systems using low-dimensional materials. To date, his research results have been included in one book chapter (2013), published in Nature Communications (2015), Scientific Reports (2014), IEEE Transaction on Electron Devices (2009-2012) etc., presented in IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM, 2009, 2011-2013), and filed five US and Korean patents with the collaboration of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. In 2012, he received Chinese Government Award for outstanding self-financed students abroad by China Scholarship Council.

Dr. Yi Li is currently a postdoc in the Superconductivity and Magnetism Group at Argonne National Laboratory. He has obtained his B.S. degree in Physics from Peking University (2009) and his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Columbia University (2015). Prior to Argonne he has been a postdoc at CEA Saclay in France for two years (2015-2017). Yi Li’s research focuses on building hybrid quantum magnonic circuits based on microwave superconducting circuits and magnetic devices for their applications in quantum information processing. Yi was the recipient of the Postdoctoral Performance Awards (2020) at Argonne National Laboratory and the IEEE Chicago “Distinguished R&D” Award (2020). He is also the treasurer and Young Professional Chair of IEEE Magnetics Society, Chicago Chapter.

Rajan is a highly accomplished researcher with expertise in semiconductor processing, biosensors and photovoltaics. He earned his doctoral degree in Bioengineering from Clemson University, South Carolina. His research work involved developing continuous monitoring electrochemical biosensors using enhanced nanomaterial interactions. His work from Robert Bosch LLc Palo Alto on electrochemical characterization of immunoassays has been patented. In his career, he has been involved with new technology transfer at First solar Inc and Formfactor Inc. His current work involves in photolithography process development and sustainability for hard drive head manufacturing at Headway Technologies, Milpitas, California. He is active Excom member of the IEEE SF Bay Area Nanotechnology Council and currently it’s Vice-President. He has been involved in arranging the monthly seminars and chaired the 2021 Annual Symposium for IEEE SF Bay Area Nanotechnology Council. He is also an active reviewer for the MDPI Journals.

José A. Berkenbrock received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in the same field at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. His research work involves the design, modeling, and fabrication of microfluidics detectors for biomolecules. Prior to his graduate studies, he worked with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (Altera-Intel and Xilinx) for about two years. Mr. Berkenbrock worked on the project of the new Brazilian Synchrotron (Sirius) between 2012 and 2013 and he currently develops research at the Synchrotron Laboratory for Micro and Nano Devices at the Canadian Light Source. His research interests include electropermeabilization of biological cells and tissues, functionalized microdevices, and synchrotron sciences. He has served as a reviewer for different journals and conferences in the field of nanotechnology, microfabrication, and biomedical engineering. Mr. Berkenbrock has been appointed the Young Professionals Representative of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council in Region 7.

Marta Wala-Kapica earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and Master’s degree in 2019, specializing in Inorganic Technology, from the Faculty of Chemistry, Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. In 2023, she successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis in Chemical Engineering at the same institution. Her research primarily revolves around the synthesis of electrocatalytic materials through advanced electrochemical surface modification techniques, such as Electrosynthesis, Electrodeposition, and Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation. She is particularly passionate about leveraging these methodologies for various biomedical applications and addressing environmental challenges.

Melissa Yactayo is a physicist in condensed matter physic, focusing in spin-orbitronics. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics under a joint program between the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Peru) and Université de Lorraine (France). Her doctoral research focuses on enhancing spintronic converter efficiency by combining the Spin Hall Effect and Interfacial Orbital Edelstein Effect.

She holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, where she conducted research on magnetic multilayers and magnetic nanostructures. Melissa has accumulated many years of academic and research experience, including her role as an Assistant Professor in Peru, and as an instrumental analyst in several applied physics research projects.

She has presented her research at leading conferences across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. She is also an active organizer of international scientific events on nanotechnology and spintronics. In 2024, she received the Best Poster Award at the IEEE International Magnetic Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and in 2018 the she received the Best Bachelor Degree Thesis.

Dr. Santhosh Sivasubramani received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, India. His PhD thesis work on “Rebooting Computing: Nanomagnetic Logic based Computing Architecture Design” was funded by Redpine Signals Inc., fellowship in the EE Department. MTech Thesis is on “Simulation and Experimental Investigation on Graphene”. SS also possesses experience as an INUP Visiting Research Scholar at the Centre of Excellence in NanoElectronics, IIT Bombay and as a Project Assistant – on “IOT for Smarter Healthcare” Center for Cyber Physical Systems & IoT, IIT Hyderabad. SS also reports for India Science Wire and also possess IEEE volunteer positions as IEEE NTC YP Representative India, IEEE NTC YP R10 Representative, IEEE NTC TC12 Nanomagnetics Member, IEEE NTC Hyderabad Section Chapter Founding Chair, IEEE Magnetics Society AtC-AtG Conference Pro-Com member, IEEE Communications Society Data Storage Technical Committee member, IEEE Computer Society Task Force on Rebooting Computing Member.
