MARSS 2017 – call for late news papers

https://ieeenano.org/call-late-news-papers-marss-2017/

The second International Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small Scales (MARSS) is held from 17-21 July 2017 in Montréal, Canada http://marss-conference.org.

This recently-established annual conference is managed by a high-level Steering Committee and technically supported by IEEE-RAS and IEEE-NTC. The Steering Committee has the ambition to develop MARSS to the flagship event for cross-disciplinary R&D communities to discuss current activities in all areas related to manipulation and automation (including measurement and characterization) at micro & nano scales, and in all kinds of small scale robots and their applications

The Call for Late News Papers (short papers ONLY, up to 3 pages) is now open for two weeks, from 02-15 May http://marss-conference.org/calls/call-for-late-news. You are kindly invited to attend and contribute to the event.

MARSS2017 will organize a fast-track peer-reviewing of the submitted Late News Papers. Authors will be notified of the status of their papers within a week after the submission. Accepted Late News Papers will be presented in parallel sessions (20 min). All accepted papers will be included into the conference proceedings.

IEEE NANO 2017 – call for late news papers

https://ieeenano.org/call-late-news-papers-ieee-nano-2017/

The 17th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE NANO 2017) will be held at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh, USA, July 25-28, 2017. We proudly to inform you that we have received a record high abstract/paper submissions this year (more than 350). On behalf of the program committee of IEEE NANO 2017, we would like to thank all authors who have submitted your abstracts/papers to the conference and all referees who have reviewed papers for the conference.

If you have unfortunately missed the regular submission deadline, you still can submit your work as late news paper. The requirement for the late news paper is the same as that for contributed paper, i.e. a minimum of two pages extended abstract and/or a maximum of six pages full paper. The late news paper will undergo the same peer-review process as the regular contributed paper. The difference is that late news papers are processed by an ad hoc committee in a first-in, first-served fashion. There is limited number of late news paper submissions (about 50) due to the limited space of the conference venue. Please submit your late news paper as soon as you can to have a better chance to be accepted. The deadline for this type of submission is May 15, 2017 or until when we have received enough submissions.

If you have interest in presenting your work in IEEE NANO 2017 but do not intend to publish your work, you can submit your work as Presentation without Seeking Publication. The requirement for this presentation only submission is a text abstract with an optional two-page extended abstract. If you choose the presentation type as Oral, please also upload the two-page extended abstract for better chance of being selected. The presentation only submission will not receive standard peer review; instead it will be reviewed by the program committee. The acceptation of presentation only submission is determined by its merit, its relevance to the conference, the availability of space. The deadline for this type of submission is May 15, 2017 or until when we have received enough submissions.

Nanotechnology Summer Schools Registration

The IEEE Nanotechnology Council is supporting two Summer Schools this year: Montreal & Toulouse

Montreal

https://ieeenano.org/announcing-2017-montreal-nanotechnology-summer-school/

Registration is now open for the IEEE Summer School on Nanotechnology “N3, Nanomaterials, Nanotools, Nanodevices” to be held in Montreal (Canada) on June 26-30, 2017.

All the details and registration are available at http://ieeen3summerschoolmtl.org

The aim of the school is to provide graduate students and early career researchers in nanotechnology a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts that underpin the properties of nanomaterials, the opportunities afforded by advanced characterization tools and the prospects of nanoscale devices. Our lectures will be structured so as to impart a broad set of concepts, starting from the design of nanomaterials, their synthesis using various approaches, the characterization of their structure and properties, their integration into devices and device testing and optimization.
