Search for Editor-in-Chief: IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience

Nominations and applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is selected.

The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC), and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) are undertaking a search for Editor-In-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience (TNB).

TNB reports on original, innovative and interdisciplinary work on all aspects of molecular systems, cellular systems, and tissues (including molecular electronics). Topics covered in the journal focus on a broad spectrum of aspects, both on foundations and on applications. Specifically, methods and techniques, experimental aspects, design and implementation, instrumentation and laboratory equipment, clinical aspects, hardware and software data acquisition and analysis and computer based modelling are covered (based on traditional or high performance computing – parallel computers or computer networks).

The Editor-in-Chief position is for a three-year term and is renewable for an additional three years. The term of appointment will start January 2020. At the time of appointment, the successful applicant must be a member of the IEEE EMBS. The Editor-in-Chief reports to a Steering Committee with representatives from EMBS, NTC, and RAS.

Call for Nominations: Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Nanotechnology Magazine

Nomination/Application Deadline Extended: August 30, 2019

The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) invites nominations or applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Nanotechnology Magazine (INM). The Editor-in-Chief appointment is for a two-year term starting January 1, 2020, renewable twice, for a total of six years.

The IEEE Nanotechnology Magazine was launched in 2007 to provide leading edge information on all aspects of nanotechnology including theory, analysis, design, implementation, and applications related to creation of materials, devices, structures, etc.  With a focus on multi- and interdisciplinary communication in the state of the art in the field of nanotechnology, the magazine covers new research and developments toward a broad audience, tutorials, and surveys in the field of nanotechnology in addition to industry news, research news, education news, policy news, opinion pieces, book reviews, updates on people, introduction to new tools and techniques, funding and meetings news, patent summary, and commercialization.

Call for 2019 Nominations IEEE Nanotechnology Council

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 24-JUNE

The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is seeking nominations for the following positions:

(1) VP for Publications (2020-2021)
(2) VP for Technical Activities (2020-2021)

Unless otherwise noted, all positions are two-year terms and start Jan. 1, 2020.

Nominations should include a statement from the candidate and a bio in IEEE format. The deadline for nomination is June 24, 2019. A position description and nomination form are in the NTC Nomination Package, which can be downloaded at here. Duties for the positions are described in the Constitution which can be found here.

Eligibility: Candidates are nominated from current AdCom members or from those past members who have served as Member Society-appointed or ex-officio AdCom members within the previous five years. Review the AdCom roster at https://ieeenano.org/adcom/.

NOTE: Nominations may be made only by voting AdCom members (one per Society, as designated by the Society).

Note: An individual may not serve concurrently as both a Council officer and a Council Member Society representative.

The Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is seeking nominations for distinguished lectures. The NTC has created a distinguished lecturers program to enhance the visibility of NTC among nanotechnology societies. The NTC Distinguished Lecturers are appointed to honor excellent speakers who have made technical, industrial or entrepreneurial contributions of high quality to the field of nanotechnology and science, and to enhance the technical programs of the Nanotechnology Council chapters and conferences. Consideration is given to having a well-balanced variety of speakers who can address a wide range of topics of current interest in the fields covered by the Society.

The term for the Lecturers is from January 1 until December 31 of 2019. The Lecturers serve for a one year term, and may be reappointed for one additional year with approval of the NTC Distinguished Lecturer Committee. A budget will be provided each Lecturer to give lectures for NTC Chapters and NTC Conferences based on availability of funding through the NTC. DLs are expected to give a minimum of 2 lectures per year as part of their commitment to serve.

(1) President-elect (2019-2020) (1-year) and President (2020-2021)
(2) VP for Conferences (2019-2020)
(3) VP for Finances (2019-2020)
(4)*NEW* VP for Education (2018-2019) (start-up; starts immediately upon election)

Unless otherwise noted, all positions are two-year terms and start Jan. 1, 2019.

The Lecturers serve for a one year term, and may be reappointed for one additional year with approval of the NTC Distinguished Lecturer Committee. A budget will be provided per DL to give lectures for NTC Chapters and NTC Conferences based on availability of funding through the NTC. DLs are expected to give a minimum of 2 lectures per year as part of their commitment to serve.

Candidates for DLs may be nominated by any current IEEE member, using the IEEE NTC Distinguished Lecturer Nomination Form. Self-nomination is not accepted.

The selection of distinguished lectures will be made by the Distinguished Lecturer Committee, a subcommittee of Technical Activities Committee (TAC) and approved by the NTC ExCom.
