MARSS 2022 Call for Papers

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022

5th Int. Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small Scales (MARSS)

Call for Papers

Download CFP (PDF)

MARSS, the annual International Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small Scales, will be held in-person on July 25-29, 2022, in Toronto, Canada. The conference is the flagship forum for cross-disciplinary R&D communities to discuss current activities related to manipulation and automation (including measurement and characterization) at micro and nano scales, and all kinds of small scale robots and their applications. The conference is technically supported by IEEE-NTC and IEEE-RAS.

NOTE: MARSS policy does not include having online or partially online (hybrid) conferences. We do hope that the pandemic situation will gradually improve in 2022, and the majority of the interested professionals will be able to attend and enjoy the in-person conference. In the worst case, if the international travel to Canada won’t significantly resume by the beginning of May 2022, MARSS Organization Committee will again postpone the conference to 2023 and announce the decision in the first week of May, at least a week before the full paper submission deadline. Under these conditions, a reasonable strategy for the authors would be to do the full paper submission short before the deadline on May 15.

Program: MARSS2022 offers 12-14 plenary talks and 30-35 technical sessions. The high-profile plenary talks (40 min) will be given by distinguished experts. All accepted papers will be presented in the technical sessions (20 min, oral presentation) and included into the conference proceedings on USB. Presented full papers will also be submitted to the IEEE Xplore® digital library.

Awards: All presented full papers will contest for various Best Paper Awards. The Awards include a certificate and a cash prize. Additionally, MARSS2022 will present Big-on-Small Award, along with a commemorative plaque and a cash prize. The aim of the Award is to recognize excellent performance on a MARSS-related topic and to promote upcoming talents with excellent research track and international visibility.

Important Deadlines:
Full paper submission (5-6 pages): May 15, 2022 May 22, 2022 (final)
Notification of full paper status: June 05, 2022
Submission of final full papers: June 20, 2022
Registration for the full papers: June 20, 2022
Short paper submission (1-3 pages): June 15, 2022 June 25, 2022
Notification of short paper status: 2-3 days after the submission
Special session proposals: May 15, 2022 (preliminary proposal)
June 20, 2022 (final proposal)
Early Bird registration: June 20, 2022
Discounted registration for virtual speakers June 30, 2022

IEEE-NANO 2022 Call for Special Sessions

Wednesday, December 1st, 2021

Deadline Extended to 27 February

Download Proposal (PDF)

The IEEE NANO 2022 Organizing Committee invites proposals for Special Sessions to be held during the 22nd IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO 2022), which will be held from the 4th to the 8th of July 2022 at the Auditorium of Palma de Mallorca, which is the capital of the Balearic Islands in Spain.

Special sessions complement the regular technical program by highlighting new and emerging research topics, or innovative applications of established theoretical approaches. The topic of a special session proposal should be timely and compelling.

While we welcome special sessions in all areas of Nanotechnology, priority will be granted to proposals focusing on aspects inherent to the research topics of interest to the IEEE-NANO scientific community. High consideration will be given to proposals for the discussion of particularly-relevant open problems, which currently limit the scope of the respective applications.

The participation of speakers from the industry in a special session is encouraged, and will be positively evaluated during the assessment of the respective proposal.

Please note that each paper, intended for a special session, will be subject to the same peer-review process as any regular paper.

Special Session Proposals

Please submit proposals (maximum 3 pages) in PDF format via e-mail to the Special Session Chair before February 27th 2022. A proposal should include the following information:
