
Call for Applications – TNANO Young Editorial Board Members
IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology (TNANO), the flagship journal of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council, invites applications for its Young Editorial Board. This initiative supports outstanding early-career researchers who wish to contribute to the journal’s scientific development, promote emerging areas of nanotechnology, and gain editorial and leadership experience. TNANO publishes high-quality peer-reviewed work across fundamental nanoscience, emerging technologies, and industrial innovation, under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Prof. Georgios Ch. Sirakoulis.
Who Should Apply
- Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and at least an early-career academic or research position, such as Assistant Professor, Postdoctoral Researcher, or equivalent.
- Candidates should normally be within ten years of their Ph.D. nomination; exceptional cases may be considered beyond this limit.
- Research expertise should align with the scope of IEEE TNANO, with demonstrated participation in funded projects, major initiatives, or competitive grant programs.
- Applicants should have at least five first-author or corresponding-author publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, preferably including IEEE venues.
- Scientific rigor, professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to the mission of IEEE TNANO are essential. Prior reviewing, editing, conference organization, or IEEE NTC involvement is highly valued.
Expected Contributions
- Submit or solicit at least one high-quality manuscript within the first year of appointment.
- Support the identification, planning, organization, and peer review of special issues or special sections in emerging nanotechnology areas.
- Promote IEEE TNANO through conferences, seminars, online presentations, professional networks, and outreach to high-quality authors.
- Participate in IEEE NTC conferences and related journal activities, especially those linked to thematic initiatives.
- Recommend distinguished experts for future editorial service and contribute ideas to the journal’s long-term strategy.
