Deadline Extended

Nominations and applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is selected.

The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC), and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) are undertaking a search for Editor-In-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience (TNB).

TNB reports on original, innovative and interdisciplinary work on all aspects of molecular systems, cellular systems, and tissues (including molecular electronics). Topics covered in the journal focus on a broad spectrum of aspects, both on foundations and on applications. Specifically, methods and techniques, experimental aspects, design and implementation, instrumentation and laboratory equipment, clinical aspects, hardware and software data acquisition and analysis and computer based modelling are covered (based on traditional or high performance computing – parallel computers or computer networks).

The Editor-in-Chief position is for a three-year term and is renewable for an additional three years. The term of appointment will start January 2020. At the time of appointment, the successful applicant must be a member of the IEEE EMBS. The Editor-in-Chief reports to a Steering Committee with representatives from EMBS, NTC, and RAS.

Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate the scientific vision needed for advancing the quality and prestige of the journal, as well as the editorial experience to raise the journal’s intellectual stature and impact. Nominations and applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is selected.

Nominations/applications should include the following in electronic format (PDF):

  • Goals and strategy for improving intellectual quality, scientific impact and visibility of TNB.
  • A brief synopsis of the candidate’s expertise in technical editing along with subject areas.
  • A detailed curriculum vitae.
